What dermal filler is
Dermal filler is a soft gel, usually made of hyaluronic acid, that's injected under the skin to add volume and shape. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar your skin already makes, which is part of why it blends in so well.
You see the change right away, and it settles over the next couple of weeks.

Where it's used
Lips are the most popular area, for more volume, a better shape, or more even proportions. Cheek filler restores fullness that fades with age, and chin or jawline filler can define your profile.
Small amounts can make a noticeable difference, and more can always be added at a later visit.

What to expect
Some swelling and bruising is common for a few days, especially in the lips. Depending on the area and the product, filler usually lasts anywhere from six months to two years.
Hyaluronic acid filler can also be dissolved if needed. Before treatment, Marley asks about your health history and any filler you've had before.
Common questions
Is filler the same as Botox?
No. Neurotoxin relaxes the muscles that cause expression lines, while filler adds volume and shape. Many people have both, and Marley can explain which fits what you'd like to change.
How long does lip filler last?
Lip filler usually lasts six months to a year, since the lips move so much. Cheeks and chin tend to last longer.
Does lip filler hurt?
Most fillers contain a numbing medication to keep you comfortable, and many people find it easier than they expected.
Can filler be reversed?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme if needed, which is one reason it's the most common type of filler.
I've had filler somewhere else. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Let Marley know what product you had, where it was placed, and when, so she can plan around it.
